Youtube ruins friendships

So here's the thing. I recorded a video of my friend today. And it was somewhat embarrassing. I don't want to describe it here as he might become the next youtube viral video and I don't want that to happen if he doesn't want it to. However, I posted it to youtube. A site where you cannot really search for videos of a particular person unless you are friends with them. He got so angry that he threatened to break my computer (a repair which would cost close to $2000). I feel like this reaction was not merited by a trifling, 15 second, youtube video. And it's not like he's drinking (he doesn't drink) or he's committing any crime. It's just him being his usual silly self. I want to believe that the reason he didn't want it up was because it could be seen by parents or friends. But quite honestly there are 'incriminating' videos of me [my embarrassing video] which could be seen as much much worse. After fighting with me, I realized that he never gave me a convincing answer. This has lead me to believe that it is more of a power struggle for him. He believes that he needs to be slightly above everyone and always be right (or always have an excuse to be incorrect). In fact he often quizzes people on random pieces of information to let everyone know that he knows one more fact than you. Anyways, I still like being his friend (he's a wonderful and hilarious guy who brings a lot of joy in my life). But I believe that this video disrupts this power he has over everyone. over me. So, I want to resolve this conflict, but at the same time I do not want to have to give into this power play of his.
